How will I know if someone logs into my MyHR account from an unfamiliar device or location?

MyHR now automatically notifies you by email when your account is accessed from a new device, browser, or location we haven’t seen before. This security feature helps you stay informed of potentially unauthorised activity and take immediate action if needed.

When we detect a login to your MyHR account from a device or location that hasn’t been used previously—such as a new browser, operating system, or network (e.g., VPN or physical region)—you will receive a “New login detected” email alert.

This message is designed to:

  • Protect your account by alerting you to any unfamiliar access.

  • Prompt immediate action if the login was not made by you.

  • Encourage additional security, such as enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA).

What to look out for in the email:

  • Browser and device info, e.g., “Firefox on macOS”

  • General location, such as the country (e.g., Australia or Canada)

  • Date and time of the login attempt

⚠️ If you do not recognize the login, you should reset your password immediately and enable 2FA/MFA for added security.
