Re-authorising your integration to CloudPayroll

If you've been disconnected, learn how to get re-authorised

When you need to re-authorise

If your integration goes into a failed authentication state, we'll be in touch to get you up and running again. You'll also have a reminder in MyHR:

CloudPayroll: Update your credentials

Your credentials are no longer valid. Please re-authorise the integration.

Who can re-authorise

  • CloudPayroll: an API user set up for the integration
  • MyHR: any owner or manager with manage integrations permission who has access to the above account

Setting up an API user

  • On CloudPayroll, the main user will need to set up an API user for the MyHR integration
    • The main user is the login with the 5 digit username
    • contact CloudPayroll if you don't have access to the main user
  • Follow the instructions on CloudPayroll's knowledgebase, User Access - API User, to set up the user account with API user access, or follow the video instructions below
    • Username must be 13 characters long eg. 12345apiusermyhr
  • Once the user has been added, the API user should set up their password and set up two-factor authentication (2FA) if needed.

Re-authorising your MyHR integration

  1. In MyHR, head to the account menu by selecting your name in the top left, select 'Manage integrations'
  2. Find the integration with the status: Failed auth. If you're not already in failed auth, contact CloudPayroll or MyHR to deactivate the integration.
  3. Make sure you are logged out of CloudPayroll - if you have access to multiple accounts, you can end up connected to the wrong account.
  4. Select the button Authorise MyHR to access my CloudPayroll
  5. You'll be redirected to CloudPayroll - log in with your API user account. You may be asked to confirm access to new functionality. We periodically update this to deliver new features.
  6. You'll be redirected back to MyHR and shown the list of people records from MyHR and CloudPayroll. Check everything looks as expected and you're good to go!
  7. If needed, confirm with us whether you want any records sent to payroll that may have been missed while the integration authentication was in a failed state using the chat on MyHR.

Possible issues

  • When authorising, if you encounter an error advising you that the account has already been authorised by another account, it's best to contact CloudPayroll.
  • If you inadvertently connect to the wrong CloudPayroll account, please send us a chat message.
