Release note: 20 April 2026
This release makes onboarding smoother and admin easier to track: a redesigned add/edit person experience, the ability to invite employees before their agreement is finalised, clearer visibility on who requested each document, and an automatic KiwiSaver rate update for iPayroll (NZ) customers so you don't have to do it manually.
✨ New add & edit person experience now live for all customers
The redesigned add person forms are now available to every MyHR customer. The updated experience is cleaner and easier to use, with better handling for common friction points, including checking against inactive email addresses, smoother department creation, and a fix for selecting yourself as the manager in the new forms.
And you’re now more in control of your employee data as you can update employee details when you need to via ‘Edit details’, with MyHR experts a few clicks away if you need any accompanying HR documentation.

What this means for you
- A simpler, more guided experience when adding a new employee
- Fewer errors at the point of adding a person
- The same improvements apply when editing an existing employee's details
What you need to do
No action needed, the new experience is already live in your account. If you run into anything unexpected, let us know via the Ask Us chat.
📨 Invite employees to MyHR before their agreement is ready
You no longer need to wait for an employment agreement to be finalised before inviting a new employee to MyHR. You can now send a MyHR login invitation from the view/edit details page under Login Details.

What this means for you
- Employees can get set up in MyHR earlier in the onboarding process
- No need to hold off on sending the invite while waiting on paperwork
What you need to do
When adding a new employee, go to their profile, select the view/edit details page, and find the Login Details section to send the invitation.
📋 Document acceptance report: see who requested each document
A new 'Requested by' column has been added to the document acceptance report, showing which manager or admin initiated each request.

What this means for you
- Easier to track ownership of document requests
- Better visibility when multiple managers are sending documents
What you need to do
No action needed. The column will appear automatically in your document acceptance report.
🇳🇿 iPayroll (NZ): KiwiSaver default rate automatically updated to 3.5%
For customers using the MyHR iPayroll integration, the default KiwiSaver employee contribution rate will automatically switch from 3% to 3.5% to reflect the legislative change that took effect in April 2026.
What this means for you
- New employees added through the integration will have the correct default rate applied automatically
- No manual update needed
What you need to do
If you have employees who were added before this change and whose KiwiSaver rate has not yet been updated, review their settings in iPayroll directly.
