We’ve made some major updates to how job descriptions work in MyHR, giving you more flexibility and reducing the time you spend formatting and managing documents.

Fully editable job descriptions
You can now edit every part of a job description - including sections that were previously locked (like general duties).
- More flexibility: Write job descriptions that reflect your organisation’s specific needs.
- Generate a starting point: Use the “Generate” option to quickly create a draft job description based on your chosen role. It uses our best-practice structure to get you off to a good start.
- No “General duties” by default: Automatically generated job descriptions won’t include this section. You can add it back if you want to, and don’t worry - employment agreements still include clauses that cover general duties.
Variation letters for changing positions
When an employee moves to a new position, you can now request a change to position letter using the new job description format.
The letter will automatically include your updated, fully editable job description — with formatting that looks like you entered it!
Download and edit job descriptions as PDFs
You can download job descriptions from your jobs library as PDFs - message the MyHR team via the 'Ask us' chat feature if you'd like to discuss setting up a template with your logo and letterhead.
