What are performance reviews
Performance reviews are regular check-ins between managers and employees that focus on achievements, challenges, and opportunities for growth.
They give employees clear feedback and recognition, while also helping managers align individual goals with the company’s direction.
For businesses, performance reviews are an important way to build engagement, support professional development, and ensure fairness and consistency across teams.
The stages in the performance review process are:
- Draft review
- In cycle
- Individual appraisal
- Final appraisal
Performance review templates
Within MyHR's Performance Review feature, you can create templates that be can used as a base across the organisation or within a department or role. With templates in place, your managers can spend less time on set up and more time on great conversations.
Visit the creating or editing performance review template article for further information on how to set up templates.
Setting up or editing performance reviews for employees
An individual performance review can be set up from an employee's profile or from the Performance feature. You have the option of creating a one off review, or using a template (created either for your organisation, or a specific department or role).
Visit the setting up a performance review for an employee article for further information.
Managing performance reviews during In Cycle (check ins during the cycle period)
During the review cycle, both the manager and the employee have the opportunity to provide update on how process is tracking against KPIs.
Visit the managing the performance review cycle article for further information.
Completing the performance appraisal process
The final stage of the review cycle is the appraisal stage - the formal part of the performance review where an employee’s overall performance for the period is evaluated, discussed, and confirmed.
Visit the how to complete the performance appraisal process article for further information.
